Amado Torresechandi (1950 - )

This Spanish painter was born in Spain on 10th July 1950.
Torresechandi is a landscape painter who prefers rural subjects, countryside of herdsmen, full of lyricisms. The artist skilfully captures certain moments as they are being offered by nature. Artistically he is a representative of the school of Olot.

While his representations are always objective, they are also charged with much sentiment. Sometimes Torresechandi appears to be very intimate and concentrates his interest on enclosed parcels of woodlands, where mist and low clouds recommend the return of the sheep into their corrals.

He shows us his paintings full of light and refreshing tonality. His compositions are of high quality. He both commands and carefully controls the use of colours.

Torresechandi knows about all the secrets of his subjects and makes good use of all the possibilities they offer to him. As a magnificent drawsman he takes care of all the details and at the same time he succeeds in creating a very special atmosphere. Light and colour are at his service as he faithfully depicts the landscape of Olot in which he is living. His works are immersed in lyrics like a sentimental poem.
