Kees Terlouw (1890 – 1948)

Born in Rotterdam in 1890, Terlouw was a 20th century artist who was active in France and Holland.

He is admired for his luminous clear palette and impressionist interpretation of light, shadows and reflections.
Terlouw is known primarily for his port scenes and cityscapes and often painted the canals which go through small French and Dutch towns, with their barges and their northern European brick houses alligned along the edges.

His works are in collections in Paris, Amsterdam, Berne Switzerland, Brussels and London.
