Katy originally trained and worked in Architecture obtaining a BA Degree from Thames Polytechnic. She took up painting seriously whilst she was living in Newmarket in the late 1980's. She was attracted to the potential of the views around the racecourse and practice areas and inspired by the work of other equestrian artists.

Katy has been working as a professional artist since 1995. Katy's favourite medium is watercolour but she also paints in oils, acrylic and pastels. Since 1997.

Katy has had work selected for each of the Society of Equestrian Artists annual national exhibitions in London. Katy won the 'PQ International' prize for the best polo exhibit in the Society's 2003 show and the 'Horse & Hound' prize for the best racing exhibit in their 2004 exhibition. In 2005 she was awarded Full Membership of the Society. Many of Katy's racing paintings have been published in various editions of the racing annual 'Travelling the Turf'.
