Lucien Potronat (1889 – 1974)

Lucien Potronat was born in Lyons in 1889.

He first studied art in his native city, but later moved to Paris in order to extend and perfect his knowledge. It was there that he began exhibiting and gained instant recognition and success.

At the end of the First World War, Potronat was a regular exhibitor at the Salon d'Hiver, using the pseudonym Jacques Warner.

Towards the end of his life, Potronat lived on the French Riviera as the subject he specialised in was the landscapes of Southern France.
