Charles Clement Francis Perron (1893-1958)

Charles Perron was born on 22nd August 1893 at Plessy in the Lower Loire region.

He was a pupil at the School of Fine Arts at Nantes, a pension having been granted by the town for the National School of Fine Arts where he had been the pupil of R Colin Laurent and L Roger.

A Chenevard prize winner, he received a Second Grand Prize in Rome in 1921, was awarded a Laureate at the Institute, a gold medallist at a competition examination in 1928, a silver medalist at the Universal exhibition in 1937, and a curator at the Museum of Fine Arts at Nantes from 1936 to 1945.

The Museum of Nantes, Rennes, St Nazaire, Guerande, Cambrai and Tourcoing have pictures by this versatile artist including portraits, nudes, landscapes, flowers and still life.

Charles Perron died in 1958
