Javier Mulio (1957 - )

Javier Mulio was born in Alcoy (Alicante, Spain) in 1957. He made his first painting at the age of fourteen. He first studied painting at the Mila Gomez School from 1973-1976, Gomez being a well-known artist from Javier’s native city.

What inspired Javier to begin to paint was the number of painters that lived in his city, and the friendly relationship he had with some of them.

Javier began to paint professionally at the age of 21, choosing the technique of hyperrealism, emphasising the still life motif, which he mastered with great simplicity, yet also great quality.

He has participated in various expositions in Spain, as well as internationally, such as England, Russia, and the US. In the US, the work of Javier is well known and appreciated, and has been exhibited in some of the most prestigious galleries in the country. He has also been exhibiting his work since 1997 in Artexpo New York.

His work has been published in June 2005 and August 2006 issues of the prestigious American publication of art called American Art Review, and his praises are numerous from some of the most recognised galleries in the US.
