David Morgan (1947 - )

David Morgan was born in Southampton in 1947. After leaving school he attended Southampton College of Art and Design.
He left Britain and travelled extensively in Western Europe, to gain artistic experience. He lived in Paris for some time, he settled in Gibraltar for several years and took frequent trips to North Africa. Whilst abroad he gained the confidence and ability which makes his work quite outstanding amongst his contemporaries.

Upon his return to the U.K. he firmly established himself as one of the leading traditional landscape artists of our time and is extensively exhibited in the U.K.'s leading galleries.

So compelling is his work that his reputation has extended far beyond his Hampshire roots. Whether it is a view of Yorkshire, Exmoor or  the Hampshire Downs, one can easily recognise the locality by the accuracy and sympathetic interpretation in his work. Few artists can emulate his gift for distance, detail and lighting in his superb landscapes of rural England.

David Morgan also works on commissions for leading fine art publishers.
