Merfort (1927 - )

Contemporary German artist - Born in Hennersdorf near Jagerndorf in Silesia on February 26th 1927.

Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under Prof. Dachauer and Prof. Bockl.  Further education at the National Theatre in Esslingen.

Merfort is born to be an artist, who developed a great proficiency in drawing and oil painting; especially his flower still lifes and vibrant studies of animals are well known far beyond the borders of his home country.  His miniature portraits are accepted by art connoisseurs with enthusiasm.

G Merfort is now living in Southern Germany in an idyllic village, where the world seems to be still in tact.
