James Edwin Meadows (1828 – 1888)

 

            Born in 1828, Meadows was the son of James Meadows, a noted artist who painted marine subjects.

            A landscape painter of considerable repute, he exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1854-1872, also at Suffolk Street and the British
Institution.  The titles of his Academy pictures included views of Essex, Kent, Sussex and Surrey.

            James Edwin Meadows died in 1888 at the age of sixty.
