Andrew Hutchinson (1961 - )

Andrew Hutchinson was born in 1961 to a farming family in North Yorkshire.  He is a big bearded man, quietly spoken who tries to be unobtrusive but whose strong character remains evident.  A man whose strong passion for wildlife has become his career and life.

On leaving school he completed an apprenticeship in joinery which instilled in him his patience and attention to detail which is predominant in his artistic work.  A fortunate change of mind led him on to an Art course at Cleveland College of Art where he had three years in which to develop his instinctive style and skill with his subjects.  He then worked as an archaeological illustrator for two years, during which time he met his wife Louise.

He spends time walking and collecting a large variety of reference material both plant and wildlife with which he composes his beautiful and unique paintings. An artist with an uncanny depth of feeling and skill.

His success has been established by exhibiting among the worlds top wildlife artists in exhibitions in America since 1994.  He also stages a one man show every year in his beloved Yorkshire to which he remains fiercely loyal.  He has undertaken many commissions.
