Maurice Decamps

(1892 – 1953)

This delightful flower and landscape artist has been exhibited at the Paris Salon since 1925.

He first gained distinction as a painter of landscapes, which won him an honourable mention and the Savoy medal in 1926 and a Silver medal and special landscape prize in 1927.

Other awards included the Silver medal at  the International Exhibition of 1937 and the Justin Claverie Prize in 1938. Towards the end of his life, the artist turned his attention to the painting of flowers, and his excellent brushwork, combined with a brilliancy of colour and delightful arrangement, give them a decorative charm which cannot be excelled.
